Bardolino DOC

B a r d o l i n o D O C

description

Numerous are the testimonies and findings of the long and ancient winemaking tradition of Bardolino that tell us about a ruby red wine, light with a subtle salinity as distinctive features that still differentiate Bardolino from other red wines of the neighbouring areas. A document from the end of the 19th century attributes to a Venetian writer who on the Veronese coast of Lake Garda has long been known for the white vinification technique of red grapes which was learned from France and is how Chiaretto is obtained.

Geographical area

The Bardolino vines embrace the Veronese shore of Lake Garda, an environment with the colours and scents of the Mediterranean: mild climate, sun exposure and sandy, gravelly and clayey soils are the determining factors for the quality of the native Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. and the resulting wine.

Characteristic

Since the 40s and 50s the bottles of Bardolino and Chiaretto have been exported to the USA and today this denomination is one of the most well-known and appreciated all over the world for its red and rosé wines with an export share of over 60% and with a production that exceeds 25 million bottles.
