Description
The Emilia or Emilia IGT appellation was created in 1995 and represents one of the largest and most important wine-growing areas in the Emilia-Romagna region.
Geographical area
The Emilia or Emilia IGT appellation includes the provinces of Bologna, Ferrara, Modena, Parma, Piacenza and Reggio nell’Emilia, very large territories with fertile soils mainly of alluvial origin rich in silt and clay that allow us to obtain excellent semi- sparkling wines and sparkling wines.
Characteristic
The wines of the Emilia or Emilia IGT appellation are mainly based on native and international vines even if the symbol of these areas is Lambrusco Emilia IGT which with a production of about 130 million bottles confirms the importance and success that these territories and their wines have long conquered international tastes and markets such as Germany, the USA, Austria and Mexico.
